The first and only papal series issued in this currency appeared on January 1st 1852. Like all classic issues, it is worth taking a closer look at.

The left copy of the 15 (+5)c is smaller than normal so that the face value appears as a "5" instead of "15", probably due to an original double perforation. Not listed in Sassone, very fine.
