Classical Philately and Ballons Montés
Ninety-century Italian philately is the queen of the 4th Zanaria’s public auction. Approximately 500 lots of the Old Italian States with stamps, blocks, pieces, and complete documents.
Some of the remarkable lots of the auction are: a mixed franking of Provisional Government of Modena and Sardinian State on piece (Lot 116 - starting price €3.500) , a cover with the Italian Kingdom 15c lithographied cancelled with Neapolitan Svolazzi of Casal San Michele (152 - €5.000) and

a rare 5c yellow green of the Provisional Government of Parma, used (196, €10.000); a cover of Sicily with a four colour franking including the 50 grana sent from Messina to Genova (438, €18.000).

One of the many highlights is the front of cover franked with Italian Kingdom Umberto I, 5 Lire in combination with 20c and 45c from Rome to Palermo (585, €10.000)

Among other top items we can notice a “Speaking Cover” (advertising

During the second part of the auction, at 4.00 PM, we will be proposing the “Nadar” collextion of “Ballon Montés”: documents sent by hot air balloons during the Prussian siege to Paris between 1870 and 1871, that gave birth to the Air Mail. The collection is absolutely outstanding, with many of the top rareties of this field. One example among all other is the cover item: a Neptune pli confié with red Aerostier handstamp, the first example of the Air Mail cancel. That’s the lot 2001 and its base is 35.000 Euros.
